Part 3: My deep journey of surrender into life’s perfection

Choose love. When we drop into our hearts and open to the tender flow of unconditional love, we become free, we become whole, we become one with all things. When we choose love, we step into our true nature and surrender onto a path of expansive, non-attached interconnectedness; our soul’s true home.

True love is free love. It’s not the clinging, grasping, self-absorbed love that stems from the ego-driven mind fed by our fears and insecurities. It is the non-attached love that flows freely from the heart, bubbling up from an eternal wellspring of unconditional patience, compassion, forgiveness and gentle kindness. When we drop into this wellspring of loving awareness we realise that at the very core of our nature we are one, we are the same; millions of tiny drops of water from the ever expansive ocean of Eternal Life.

PART 1: My deep journey of surrender into life’s perfection

Exactly this time last year I attended one of the most profound personal development conferences of my life. It was a conference like no other, and it touched something deep inside my tender heart, that forever changed me.

As most of you know, over the past four years I have been on quite a deep dive into the journey of healing, self discovery, spiritual seeking, surrender and finding my true purpose in life; my True North. To be honest the more I think about it, the more it feels like my whole life has been one big freakin epic personal development journey and for some reason, a couple of years ago the Universe decided to crank this up a few notches; throw me a couple of earth-quaking, ground-shaking curve balls, and catapult me on a super charged, fast tracked slip-stream of inner discovery and transformation. It has been one helleva wild ride, and I can’t wait to share more of this with you. But first, let me tell you about the life-changing conference which came into my life this time last year, and how it became the impetus to my beautiful deep dive into the journey of surrender, and the spark that relit my burning fire within.

Listen to the whispers in your heart and follow your soul’s true desires

In other words DO WHAT YOU LOVE, listen to your inner most dreams and desires and live the life you imagined. DO what makes your heart sing and body tingle with joy. 

As many of you are aware, I have started writing my first book. I am following my deepest heart yearnings and living out my life-long dream to become a writer. I can’t wait to share it with you and birth my heart’s work into the world. It has something I have been wishing for a very long time. I feel like I am finally on my soul-inspired path, and listening to the whispers in my heart (even with the doubts, the fears, the self-sabotaging beliefs and the voice in my head constantly trying to talk me out of it). And, I am learning to TRUST the process.

I realise I don’t mention protiens and fats in this quick video clip but the answer is YES! I eat good quality proteins everyday (mostly fresh, organic free range chicken or fresh local caught fish). I also load up on healthy brain boosting fats in all of my cooking (including organic coconut oil, pasture fed Ghee and raw extra virgin olive oil / flaxseed oil on my salads). If your vegan or vegetarian, make sure you get a wide variety of protien rich foods in your diet and enjoy a good dose of healthy fats in your cooking! Good fats and good quality protien sources in your diet is so important for your brain, nervous system and skin health – a critical ingredient for a GLOWING WHOLE LIFE.

Make awareness your friend

 

Negative thoughts self liberate when we touch them with the gentle caress of awareness.

Old wounds begin to heal when we bring loving attention to them and bathe them with the soothing balm of compassion.

Old programs unravel. Old records fade. Self limiting beliefs disappear.

Life transforms when we make awareness our friend   ~ Jess Leggatt

 

Awareness can be our greatest teacher and loyal friend if we learn to pay attention. Awareness comes to us in many forms, sometimes alighting itself gently on our lap with a soft whisper or gentle nudge, taking our hand lovingly and guiding us in the direction we need to go. Other times it comes to us with more force, boldly knocking us over, or jolting us wide awake with a fierceness we can’t ignore.

It doesn’t matter how awareness enters our life, what matters is that we learn how to pay attention and take note.

Cultivate resilience by nurturing your inner life

I often refer to resilience as our ability to bend instead of break. Quite often throughout our life we are thrown a curve ball, or two (or three or four or five!); a specific incident or accumulation of experiences that bowls us off our feet, takes the wind out of sail, and makes us acutely aware of our own fragility and vulnerableness.

Sometimes it’s a major blow like a serious illness, a death of a loved one, a divorce, a major injury, bankruptcy or the loss of a job. Other times it’s a gentler tug like loneliness, resentment, failure, rejection or disappointment. It doesn’t matter what form it takes, the commonality of these experiences is that they push our pain buttons, and pull and tug at our inner sense of wellbeing and resilience.
